Hey Lucy

Hey Lucy is a popular eatery on King -- Canon 7D & EF 35mm f1.4L

Missing the 5D already.  35mm on 1.6x crop body is just, well, not 35mm.  The 7D is a fantastic camera.  Canon has finally done something right for the pro-sumer market, with no small amount of pressure from Nikon's D300 of course.  Isn't competition great?!?  I think a 7D and a 1Ds II would make a perfect pair.  Gotta save my pennies now.

  1. So, all you gotta do is rummage through all your lenses and find a 20, 22 or 24mm focal length lens. The 1.6x crop fact will them make up for the difference. Yah, I know it isn't quite the same. :)

    Canon makes a nice 24mm L series f/1.4 lens. If you don't want L series there is a lesser EF 24mm f/1.8. :)

I know you are prime-arily (pun intended) a primes shooter. Otherwise you could look at the 16-35mm.

Move some of your MF lens inventory and I'm sure you can come up with the pennies.

  2. I had a 24mm f1.4L but couldn't justify keeping both 35/1.4 and 24/1.4 so I kept the 35L. Also had the 28mm f1.8 as well. Great little lens but didn't end up keeping it.

Canon wide angle zooms are not my cup of tea. Had the original 16-35mm f2.8L and it was not worth the money. Version II is better but look at the price!

As for moving the old lenses, I really should. There is no way I can use all the lenses well. Time to think about lens line up.
